Kindergarten children in high poverty areas will receive safety training in an effort to provide an awareness of safety rules to help prevent childhood accidents, injury and deaths. This training will also present an anti-bullying/acceptance message to bring an awareness of the need to eliminate bullying and promote acceptance of others in our communities.

Our Staff & Partners

Our trained and experienced professional staff will set up the portable safety community.  They will conduct in classroom activities.  In addition, they will guide hands-on practice with safety equipment. Our Program

Safety to Go is a safety awareness and training program.  It involves a portable safety community.  It includes a working traffic light, portable miniature buildings, traffic signs, crosswalks, tricycles and helmets for use by all kindergarten children.

History of Safety to Go

Carol Mains is the Founder and Executive Director of Safety to Go. She has over 30 years experience as a teacher of physical education and recreation administrator in the City of Cleveland. She is a graduate of the Cleveland Public Schools, Lincoln-West High School Class of 1977, The Ohio State University B.S. in Education and holds a M.Ed. from Cleveland State University in Sport Management.
